My name is Bobby Perry, welcome to Miss Lizzie's. Where fashion is for the fun of it. We're located on the beautiful Outer Banks of North Carolina and we love to have fun here at Miss Lizzie's.
Every year more than 7 million vacationers flock to the shores of the Outer Banks in search of relaxation, recreation and shopping. After more than 16 years in business, Miss Lizzie's has become a must stop location for high-end women's clothing, bringing customers back year after year.
Located in a resort area, our customers come from all over. Although we do have a large customer base from the locals but we sell everything from jeans to cocktail attire, mother of the bride, mother of the groom, a lot of guests of the wedding attire. We sell jewelry for every outfit, necklaces, earrings, shoes. We have a very large shoe department, we love color as you can see, lots of color and we accessorize from the top all the way down to the bottom. So when you walk in looking for an outfit, you are going to leave with the whole thing and you're going to love it. And customers do love it, just one look at the stores reviews will reveal numerous customers, raving about their experience at Miss Lizzie's.
One of the only reasons I come to the Outer Banks besides the beach and the food, is to come to Miss Lizzie's. The ladies there always have me walking out looking and feeling like a million dollars.
Operating a clothing boutique does take a creative touch but you don't need to be an experienced fashion designer or business owner to find success at Miss Lizzie's. The current owner has an excellent support structure in place, to help track the store’s inventory merchandising and pricing.
When I opened the store I really hadn't had any experience of this type, my grandparents had a department store I grew up working in it, but to open a store is a completely different thing so I asked for help. I had a consultant and Virginia Beach to help me get set up, she advised me to hire a consultant who helps me with inventory, so I still have him but I also belong to a buying office out of New York. So I would advise anybody who comes into it to keep those consultants
In addition to consultants, Miss Lizzie's has several experienced employees in place to help an owner operate the business.
Here at Miss Lizzie's we think of ourselves as a family, all my employees are fantastic. They're all trained to greet every customer with a smile as soon as they walk in the door and to help them find whatever it is that they're looking for and if they just want to browse that's fine too. Also I have a wonderful bookkeeper who takes care of all the business in the backroom, stuff that I don't want to do. So it's just a wonderful group of people to work with this. Miss Lizzie’s is fun. I work with a great group of people, I have shopped here since just about when she first opened and continued to shop here and about a year and a half ago, Bobby asked me if I would come in and help out for a couple of weeks because someone had left unexpectedly and I was like sure. And I found that I liked it so much that I've stayed. I like the people I deal with, I like the people I work with. So all in all it's just a fun place.
The reason I came to Miss Lizzie's I've heard nothing but good things about it. I have shopped here, it's got one of the best reputations on the south coast and I absolutely love it.
My name is Susan and I work in the backroom most of the time I do some bookkeeping and I’m the office manager and I've been here 12 years, and my job really is to keep the owner straight. And I love working here, I've been here as I said 12 years and it's just a fun place to work, fun place to shop, fun place to work.
